King Street Jam
King Street Jam, organized by The Parliament Arts Organization of York, Pennsylvania
Arts, music, food, beer: The inaugural King Street Jam, held June 22, 2019, in downtown York, Pennsylvania, entertained audiences with a dynamic street festival that celebrated culture and community in the city’s Royal Square District. Sixteen bands on two stages included performances from The Ohio Players, Low Cut Connie, Parker Millsap, Susto, and Erika Wennerstrom, Liz Cooper, and The Stampede. The 2019 event hosted more than 3,500 attendees and introduced audiences to national touring artists.
As organizers of the annual King Street Jam event, The Parliament Arts Organization was seeking a bold graphic identity for King Street Jam. The Parliament turned to LUMI to make it happen.
Our Work withKing Street Jam
Playing off the event’s location—Royal Square, which is bordered by Duke, King, Queen, and Princess streets—we created an original, hand-drawn illustration of the boom box-toting king as the centerpiece art for all our creative. The art itself reflects the hip urban vibe of this arts and culture center in the downtown York community. Our funky king creation got the royal treatment as we applied the design to event promo posters, postcard mailers, lamppost and utility pole banners, T-shirts, and digital media graphics.
Additionally, we supported The Parliament Arts Organization with social media promotions aimed at building a following and encouraging ticket sales for the event.
“LUMI delivered a distinctive identity for King Street Jam,” said Collin Holder, executive director of The Parliament Arts Organization. “Our collaboration with LUMI resulted in creative that elevates the character of this event and celebrates the vibrant diversity of arts, music, culture, and creativity of the Royal Square District and downtown York. We were pleased to work with them as our marketing partner for King Street Jam.”
